A major appliance purchase seems only logical during the Christmas season. The spirit of shopping is soooo in the air. Numerous 0% interest offers. Companies are competing to dispose of their old stock to make way for the new. The 13th month pay and christmas bonus are readily available (unless your local loan shark get hold of it before you do!) . And the word SALE just seem to be embedded in everyone’s consciousness.
I’ve been contemplating on acquiring an LCD TV the past few months. actually the dilemma before was not whether i get one or not but rather what size i should get. 32″ seemed enough early this year. but as Specialty appliance store displayed more of the larger variants (40, 42, 47, 50), the 32″ just seemed “not large enough.” I told my self early on … secretly (meaning just me yet … haven’t informed the wife of the plan!) that come hell or high water i’ll get myself one of these before the year ends. And here we are … with the year about to end in four days … and still no LCD TV … not even a crappy 22″ at that!
Guys … trust me on this one … little boys and LCD tv’s do not go well together. The more i look at my current TV and observe the punishment it takes from my almost two year old boy, the more i am convinced that i made the right choice of 1) of purchasing a CRT TV and 2)not upgrading to an LCD TV … at least for now.
For those of you smart alecky ones who’ll try to weasel out by saying i’ll just mount it on the wall … be reminded of the concept of a projectile. Even if you place that darn thing beyond your child’s reach … it still doesn’t stop them from hurling plastic tops and wooden vegetables just to see something disintegrate into a million pieces. Ahhhh … the joy of blowing up things! Your LCD disintegrating to be more specific. Your EXPENSIVE LCD!
Fathers and single guys who plan to be fathers … heed my warning! The end of your LCD tv is near. For those with little kids … it has arrived. You just don’t know it yet!

I often ask myself whether Santa Does exist. Most adults tell me he’s not and that he remains to be a fantasy (just like the tooth fairy). But Kids on the other hand, and i mean billions of them, tell me that he does. That there is this chubby old bearded caucasian male with blond hair who rides a sled to work pulled by twelve reindeers! Santa is not just a mythical figure but that he really is real.
And you know what … i think on this issue i’ll side with the kids. Life these days just seem to suck the life out of me. From taking care of the kid, paying the mortgage, and settling all the bills. Sometimes its just too much! And if the only way i can make it til next year (or at least next week) is to believe in Santa … then why not.
Actually, after years of mulling over the Santa question, i have come to the conclusion that Santa is not a person. Santa is an experience. Something that children seem to clearly understand. And adults fail miserably at understanding . Maybe its the growing old. Or maybe its just the harshness of reality. I really don’t know. But somewhere along the way, we adults lost something. And for this we must suffer the consequence of being slaves to logic and rationality. Fortunately for some of us … we realize this and look for that thing which we have lost. After a long time of searching I found mine … . Now I’m enjoying Santa. I hope you get to enjoy Santa too!
Happy holidays everyone!!!

I asked a close of friend of mine to set up this website for me. I’m not really sure why i did, but i went ahead with it. Guess it was more of a gut feel than a logical choice. So now here we are!
How things will proceed i still have no idea. I’m even beginning to doubt my writing skills. All i can assure you is honest writing. From my head to yours. From my heart to yours. And this site is dedicted to all fathers out there … with special mention cebuano fathers … may our kids grow up to be kind children. Kind and God-fearing (whoever your God maybe) children.
